John T. Cook
Brother John T. Cook Jr, known as Baker is a native of Fredericksburg, Va., attended and graduated from Spotsylvania County Schools. John attended Computer Learning Center in Springfield, Va. in the study of computer programming to later learn that his love was in driving a tractor trailer. As a professional driver, John drove for twenty-seven years for several commercial companies to include McClain, Estes, and Harris Teeter.
In the year of 2016, John experienced an unfortunate accident, John rolled over a 53 ft trailer coming out of Delaware due to bad weather of extremely high winds with an empty box trailer. John suffered bodily injuries, but through it all, God saved his life. John is now medically retired and spends his time studying the word and helping the homeless whenever there is a need.
John always knew the Lord, since the age of accountability, as a child and youth he attended and was baptized at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Spotsylvania Va., he attended other churches in the local area as he grew up and learned more about Jesus.
John met Dr. Joseph Reed in 2006, we have fellowship on many occasions and ministries. John teamed up with Dr Reed in visiting the Prince William County Regional Detention Center and participated in the Good News Prison and Jail ministry. Along with Dr. Reed, John talked and prayed with the inmates, speaking of how God saved him from walking in the world, to walking in the Holy Spirit, this led to inmates turning their lives over to Christ.
I am dedicated to serving the Lord as an Elder spreading the “Great words of Jesus Christ”.
John is married to Maria Newman of Warrenton, Va. They have six adult children, Edward, Nicholas, Tia, LaQuanda, Erica and Jenna and blessed with fourteen beautiful grandchildren.
